![]() At last Mansfield Town grabbed the win they deserved as Ben Hutchinson's solitary goal after a minute and 35 seconds was enough to see off visiting Southport. Liam Watson's men should have been on the end of a heavier beating from Paul Cox's Stags however the way they moved the ball and created a furry of chances was enough to please the positive support inside the One Call Stadium. Hutchinson's early strike capped an excellent Stags move, only the defensive excellence of Chris Lynch plus the strong positioning of keeper Tony McMillan prevented Mansfield from a more comfortable scoreline. The visitors naturally had opportunities to level throughout the game but whilst the Stags were defensively tested, they never looked like conceding. The full time whistle sealing a more than deserved three points and clean sheet for the club whilst scorer Hutchinson, added £1 to his Movember fund - for every goal he scores this month both in the first team and reserve gets a pound from me, in aid of Mens Health - donate to Hutch here, or if you want to share your donation with other MO-members of the Stags squad click here, Team Mansfield includes Hutch, Lee Stevenson, Jobe Shaw and Lee Beevers.
