Firstly please forgive a very rare non-football related post! As you may be aware we have big plans for the Mansfield Matters show, which should be returning two weeks on Saturday with the Stags pre-season trip to Leamington.
Towards the end of last season we began to play music during the build up and half time break due to the donation of some additional kit, unfortunately due to everything else going on our CD collection wasn't the greatest and this season, we want to right that wrong, giving local bands and solo artists the chance to get their music heard during the show to a high audience.
We are not looking for a particular genre or particular artists, we are just looking for fresh talent that has a fresh and positive sound.
If you are in a band or are a solo artist OR you know a solo artists/ group that wants to get stuff heard, please get in touch by emailing email@example.com attaching either a link to your work on YouTube or an example MP3. If we like your sound, we'll look to get a CD of your work and play it out during key parts of the show - your work will also be played out on local community radio station Takeover Radio 106.9FM who are always on the hunt for new music from local artists.
PLEASE NOTE: We can NOT pay anyone for their work, we are looking for unsigned artists.
Have you ever fancied trying your hand at punditry or blogging? Now's your chance as we're looking to boost the Mansfield Matters team for the fast approaching pre-season period.
During the week you will have read that Scott Rogers has signed a professional deal with the club along with three other youth team players, pre-season will see him needed on the pitch ad rightly working hard to make it in the professional game, naturally we wish him all the best however it leaves a space alongside Craig in the press box. Whilst Wayne Briggs will also be returning, he can't commit to every match so there is opportunity to for others to step into the lime light and potentially join the Mansfield Matters show.
Obviously we can't promise anything and are in no position to offer wages or expenses, the opportunity is purely for fun and to try something new. Those interested in joining Craig on air for a pre-season match should get in contact via email firstname.lastname@example.org - Experience is commentary isn't essential as Craig will be running a training day should interest be high enough, interest in media is a must as is knowledge of football and Mansfield Town FC.
Experienced commentators and pundits are also encouraged to declare their interest, please send an audio demo and details of previous experience if you have done this before.
We are also on the lookout for bloggers and regular contributors to this website as Craig has a few projects in the pipeline which may see him unable to update the website as often. The blogs would naturally be about Stags and so long as they remain the theme, writers will have creative freedom - Anyone interested in writing a regular blog should email an example piece to email@example.com - Those successful will be given there own page and a short profile, plus there work will be shared via our social networking streams and be viewed by our vast growing audience.
Anyone wishing to help keep this site upto date should also email firstname.lastname@example.org with their ideas, the website is designed and hosted by weebly so its simple to use, we're basically looking for someone with fresh ideas and a keen eye for detail.
There is no closing date for any of the opportunities and we are looking for as many people as possible to help out, Craig started in media by just giving it a go even when he thought he was useless, that one decision changed his life forever.
We do stress that we can NOT pay anyone for their time and effort.
